The rest of that growing sector of our population is still maintaining their home, living in apartments, or bunking with their families. Finding the right kind of living situation can be overwhelming as you reach the later years in life because of money, mobility issues, or just access to other people and things you need.

There are varying degrees of blindness, however, and only about 10–15% of the blind population are unable to see anything at all. But any impact on vision for a person means that their routine is altered in some way. These people rely on a variety of services for assistance for themselves and their families so life can be as close to normal as possible.

Each type requires different paperwork, qualifications, and if you have loans, they require a payment plan that can last years. About 1 in 6 American adults currently have student loan debt. It isn’t just the tuition, but the transportation, living expenses, and other costs associated with getting an education.
(more…)We all encounter multiple things daily that are considered dangerous. If you’re like me, you’ve never really considered the places you received safety education in your lifetime. So much goes into raising awareness and teaching safety to us, but we rarely stop and acknowledge those incredible organizations. From cars to pools to pets we don’t know, we are armed with the knowledge that we need to safely navigate the world thanks to people who work in safety education. Organizations work with schools, families, and community outreach networks to teach everyone different safety tips in as many ways as possible. With all this exposure, a lot of these safety tips just become second nature to us and help us stay safe.

Mental health is extremely important, but often overlooked especially in more vulnerable populations. Nearly 60% of Americans with mental health issues did not receive any treatment last year. There is a great need for organizations that can help people get the help they need and get on their feet and thrive in society on their own.

They help people work through everyday problems like relationship issues, sadness, or significant life transitions. They are trained to help people who have a mental illness so they can manage their symptoms. Counselors have a graduate degree – either master’s or doctoral and depending on where they are located, many are required to be licensed. You will find them in schools, military bases, hospitals, and many other important parts of society including online.
