She’s using the record to speak up about stigma surrounding body confidence issues and mental illness.

She wants to share “how you can go from being very insecure with body image issues to feeling so proud of your body that you want to show it to the world.”

Girl is looking (and feeling) goooood, but it hasn’t always been that way.

In 2010, Demi was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

She’s worked hard with doctors, friends, and family to regain a happy, healthy life.

Now, Demi is partnering with five mental health organizations for the campaign Be Vocal: Speak Up For Mental Health.

She wants to get the conversation started about mental health, and she’s inviting all of us along for the ride.

Because there are some harsh statistics about mental health treatment that Demi’s just not cool with.

“4 out of 10 people with mental illness are getting the treatment that they need, which leaves you to think, how many other people aren’t getting treatment? And it’s leading to so many problems,” she told MSNBC.

Being the baller that she is, Demi went to Congress to push for some change.

“What I would love to see is comprehensive mental health reform in our government.”

She also created The Lovato Scholarship in honor of her father. The scholarship covers medical expenses for individuals struggling with mental health and addiction issues.

Demi’s father suffered from bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. He passed away in 2013.

She’s been extremely open about her journey with mental illness, hoping to encourage others to share their experiences.

She wants everyone to get involved, “whether it’s writing a letter to Congress and telling them how this is affecting you and your life [or] how you would like to see mental health care more accessible in your community,” Demi told People.

She empowers her fans to embrace their natural beauty with  #NoMakeupMonday.

Speaking of au naturale, Demi bravely bared it all for Vanity Fair in an emotional photoshoot. Not a drop of makeup. And absolutely no photoshop.
