GreatNonprofits to Lead the Future of the Giving Library Video Archive

GreatNonprofits has announced that it has been selected to lead the future of the Giving Library.

GreatNonprofits, the leading developer of tools that allow people to find, review, and share information about nonprofit organizations and charities, announced today that it has been selected to lead the future of the Giving Library.

The online video archive features more than 850 nonprofit organizations involved in a wide range of causes, including education, environmental preservation, humanitarian efforts, and health services. Viewers are able to watch the leaders of the nonprofits discuss their organizations’ missions, accomplishments, and challenges. The videos also describe the type of support that the nonprofits need to succeed.

The Giving Library was created by the Laura and John Arnold Foundation (LJAF) to give donors and philanthropists an innovative way to enhance their strategic, charitable giving. It provides an opportunity for individuals to learn about a variety of organizations and make donations to those groups directly through the Giving Library website. After investing more than $6 million in the project, LJAF began looking for organizations that could help maximize the Giving Library’s impact. It selected GreatNonprofits based on the work it does to inform donors and help organizations demonstrate the ways in which they are making a difference.

Perla Ni, founder and CEO of GreatNonprofits, said,

“We’re really excited about the Giving Library. Our mission is to help inspire and inform donors and help nonprofits showcase their impact.  We think video is vitally important, and we’re excited to be the stewards of this content.”

In addition to managing the Giving Library website, GreatNonprofits will integrate the video content onto its website at greatnonprofits.org. It will also maintain partnerships with many of the organizations that currently feature Giving Library videos on their websites.

Leila Walsh, LJAF Director of Communications, explained,

“Many people rely on GreatNonprofits to learn more about charitable organizations and to share stories about their personal connections to those nonprofit groups. The Giving Library’s engaging videos will complement GreatNonprofits’ existing resources and will provide new avenues to help donors discover additional giving opportunities.”

Tara Verner, GreatNonprofits’ Vice President of Marketing, said,

“Giving Library videos will appear on the profile pages of organizations that created initial videos with the Giving Library and who have registered on greatnonprofits.org. We’re also exploring all of the new, exciting ways we can leverage video and incorporate it into story telling and nonprofit reviews. Look for more news from us in the future.”
